Often, they don't know who God has made them to be or what they're called to do. They just know they were made for more. There's a longing to know God deeply and to know their purpose. Yet because of shame, religion, past hurts, or a lack of coaching and direction, they often miss the intimate relationship with Jesus that actually transforms lives.
I've been there, my friend! I used to desire a big public ministry. As an Enneagram 7, I love connecting with people, and I wanted to be a well-known minister who made a significant impact. But I was struggling with my health and weight, and dealing with unhealthy attachments and addictions that kept me from living the life I knew God had for me.
After my brother died in 2008, I went through a deep journey of healing with the Lord. I finally faced my own wounds and brokenness, and found freedom from strongholds that held me back.
Then in 2023, I went through another dark night of the soul, where the Lord continued to expose my false self and the places where I had put my identity in ministry. This season was painful and disorienting. But through the struggle, I felt an invitation to return to school to earn my Master's Degree in Spiritual Formation. I recently graduated from Friends University with that degree in 2026. In this journey, I felt a clear shift in my calling, away from my previous missionary work and toward becoming a friend and guide to people, with a focus on soul care, spiritual direction, and coaching.
During these hard seasons, God established me in my identity and calling to mentor, disciple, and shepherd people at a crossroads in life. Now I want to see you walk out your passions, giftings, and purpose with freedom! I get excited when I have the privilege to help someone discover their identity and purpose, and see their heart unlocked to know the Lord intimately.
I'm married to Angie, and we have two grown kids. Our son Ethan is married to Mollie, and they live next door on family land near Hillsboro. Our daughter Bree graduated from Taylor University in 2026, and with a big heart for refugees, she's on track to move overseas.
Ultimately, I want to be a friend of God and a friend of people. Life will put obstacles in your way. When you need a friend and Kingdom mentor who's "been there" to listen and help you get unstuck, I'd love to walk with you on your journey, so you can become who God designed you to be and run free with purpose in the direction God's called you to go.
